anti-semitism vs. antisemitism

The hyphenated word "anti-semitism" is thankfully on its way out.

"Jewish" vs. "Zionist"

Most Zionists are not Jews. They are usually non-Jewish conservative Christians (in the US) or relatively secular liberals (in parts of Europe). You do not have to be Jewish to be a Zionist. You do not have to be a Zionist to be a Jew.

Zionists claim to despise this equivocation, even as it benefits them. By conflating Judaism into Zionism, they erase Jews who don't follow the party line. It lets Zionists use claims of "antisemitism" as a weapon against anti-Zionists.
